Dear colleaques, I would like to share with you one of my recent poems that was published in my local news paper (Saturday Extra of Fayetteville Observer, Sept.13)
Our DNA, Our Destiny
The ancient Greeks, had many myths
to make a sense of life,
and to explain everything
in everybody's strife.
"You can't escape your destiny"
was accepted as a rule.
Most did not question it,
and lived their lives in full.
In vain, Oedipus tried to escape
the prophesy of Delphi,
as also did Acricius
the father of Danae.
Scientists now tell us
our DNA defines
each and every thing
that governs our lives.
So as the ancient Greeks will say
in their unique Delphi,
"You can't escape your DNA"
and don't you even try.
